A Visit to the Colosseum

Our first stop in Rome was the famous Colosseum, or the Flavius Amphitheatre, built between 70-80AD. Mostly known for gladiator fights, it offered other entertainment, public executions, and  spectacles. The Romans also created a system where they could flood the stadium and perform sea battle re-enactments. Later is was used for animal hunts. The Flavius Amphitheatre is an architectural marvel and was the inspiration for modern day LEGO’s.

"Run while you have the light of life!"  St. Benedict of Nursia.  Welcome to the Footsteps of St. Benedict - Class of 2019 and St. Benedict Parish Agora Trip to Italy. On this trip we will explore the areas of Italy where St. Benedict lived, led, worked and prayed. We will also explore aspects of the Rule of St. Benedict and spend time in community, inspired by the Holy Spirit and our Catholic Faith, to deepen our understanding and appreciation for the Saint for whom our parish and school is named.  We will be "running with the light of life" during this once-in-a-lifetime trip.
